Information on Volunteer Training for BUSD.

Learn how to help out in your child's classroom by training to be a volunteer. The next volunteer training session will be held on Wednesday, December 14 at 2 p.m. at the BUSD Office, 551 S. Ave. H.

All volunteers are required to attend a mandatory BUSD training session. Once you have completed the training, Live Scan fingerprinting will be available and you will need to complete the online training modules. Please bring $35 exact cash, your driver's license and social security card for the Live Scan fingerprinting process. Once you have completed all of the requirements, you may be cleared as a volunteer.

BUSD Confidential Family Survey and Drawing

BUSD Families, Be sure to fill out and return the Confidential Family Survey that was sent home with your student this week. You can also access the survey by CLICKING HERE or by scanning the QR Code or using the website address contained in the flyer to access the survey. This survey is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT as it generates the funding the District receives for staff, technology and programs at our schools. If you need help completing the survey, call the District Office at 760-255-6000 and select option 3. Thank you for your attention to this matter and your unwavering support of the students and staff of Barstow Unified School District.




Cross Country runner.

Congratulations to Barstow High School Aztecs' Senior Cross Country runner Angelina Vasquez on her second place finish in the Division 3 CIF Prelims at Mt. San Antonio College over the weekend. Angelina ran the three-mile course in 19:02.8. Vasquez moves on to the CIF Finals this Saturday at Mt. SAC, where she will look to qualify for the CIF State Finals to be held at Woodward Park in Fresno on Nov. 26. Good luck, Angela, we're all pulling for you!!! GO AZTECS!!!

Aztec Marching Band

Congratulations to the Barstow High School Aztec Marching Band and Color Guard on their 4th Place finish at the Martin Luther King Band & Color Guard’s Band Review held in Riverside on Nov. 12, 2022. The Band, under the direction of Dan Barilone, performed "March Grandisio" by Roland F. Seitz. Huge thanks you to Mr. Barilone and Marching Coach Jasmine Ceballos and Color Guard Advisor Cynthia Kramer. Check out video of the Band and Color Guard's performance HERE. GO AZTECS!!! 

BUSD Students Honored at 2022 California State Seal of Biliteracy Ceremony

Congratulations to our BUSD students who were honored at the 2022 California State Seal of Biliteracy ceremony at Oak Hills High School. According to the California Department of Education, the State Seal of Biliteracy is marked by a gold seal on the student's diploma or transcript and recognizes high school graduates who have attained a high level of proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing one or more languages in addition to English.

Veterans Day - No School 11-11-22

In observance of Veterans Day, all BUSD schools and the District Office will be closed on Friday, November 11, 2022. Classes will resume and the District office will reopen on Monday, November 14, 2022. Thank you to all who served our great nation!

Aztec Culinary and Catering Selling Pumpkin Rolls

Aztec Culinary and Catering are selling Pumpkin Rolls with cream cheese filling for $20/roll (cash only). You have to hurry, orders are only accepted through Nov. 10, 2022. You can place your order through any culinary students or email Shawna Santos at by Thursday, Nov. 10. Pick up/delivery will be Friday, Nov. 18, 2022.
