"We are so super proud of our teams!!" Head Cheer Coach Jessica Ramirez said. "Varsity and JV squads received SUPERIOR ratings on their evaluations and received ribbons. Both squads did amazing!!"
A group of 25 Aztec cheerleaders (13 varsity and 12 junior varsity) learned new pyramids, dances and stunts and look forward to showcasing these new talents at upcoming football games, Ramirez said.
"JV member Brooklyn Smalls and Varsity Cheerleader Clementine Jaramillo were the recipients of the 'Pin it Forward' honor as they were recognized by USA Camp staff for going above and beyond," Ramirez said. "They were able to pin another cheerleader from another team to receive this special recognition."
Varsity captains Aryana Chavez and Taylee Hammack, along with Maddie Velasquez, were given "Pin It Forward" honors by previous recipients. Chavez and Hammack were also selected as All-American Cheerleaders.
JV Captain Julie Iglesias, as well as Chavez and Hammack, were recognized for leadership during camp. Also, Madison Gemel, Chavez and Hammack, were selected to try out to be a USA staff member next year.
Congratulations Aztecs!! We look forward to seeing your new routines soon!!
