An important message for Barstow High School families from the Mojave Desert Air Quality Management District.

PUBLIC NOTICE

Pursuant to Health & Safety Code, Section 42301.6

To: The Parents or Guardians of the Students Attending Barstow High School; AND,
All addresses located within 1,000 feet of 220 E Mountain View St. Ste A, Barstow, CA 92311.

Dear Parent/Guardian or Resident:

The Mojave Desert Air Quality Management District (MDAQMD) has received an application from Barstow - City Hall for the following project:

INSTALL AND OPERATE A NEW DIESEL IC ENGINE, EMERGENCY GENERATOR

The location of this project is at 220 E Mountain View St. Ste A, Barstow, CA 92311. Since this project is located within 1,000 feet of the boundary of a school site; and, the operation of the above equipment results in hazardous air emissions, the California Health & Safety Code §42301.6 requires that you be given this notification and an opportunity to comment on the project before a permit is issued.

The MDAQMD has determined that, as proposed, the installation of the above equipment will comply with all MDAQMD, State and Federal air quality regulations. The MDAQMD’s analysis of the proposal has determined that the emissions from operation of this equipment will not pose a significant health risk to the school children or to the surrounding public.
